U.S. Strikes on Iran: Is This the Start of World War III? : Iran Declares U.S. Civilians and Troops in Region Are Legitimate Targets After Strikes

“Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu together mean business.”
Sen. Tom Cotton says tonight’s strike puts an end to Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Where is the truth?

President Donald Trump made a dramatic claim that he had “wiped out” Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility with six bunker-busting bombs dropped from B-2 stealth bombers. According to Trump, this airstrike “made Israel safer and the world more peaceful.”

However, reports from regional media paint a completely different picture.

Was Fordow really destroyed?

  • Al Mayadeen reported: “The U.S. airstrikes only hit the access tunnels to the Fordow facility. All scientific personnel, technicians, and sensitive technology had been evacuated beforehand.”

  • Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB asserted: “There was no damage at Fordow that cannot be repaired.”

This makes Trump’s claim of having “wiped out” the facility hard to believe — if not an outright exaggeration.

The consequences of this so-called ‘victory’

Right after Trump declared that “the world is more peaceful,” reality proved the opposite: the entire Middle East descended into chaos.

  • In Israel, the terrorism alert was raised to the highest level. All emergency forces were placed on full operational status. A sense of unease gripped the country.

  • In Baghdad, Iraq, U.S. embassy staff were urgently evacuated by helicopter. CNN described the scene: “The roar of rotors tore through the night, evoking a chaotic Saigon 1975.”

  • U.S. military bases across the Middle East were placed on high alert, as if a battlefield was about to erupt.

From defiance to… pleading

Just hours after declaring victory, Trump quickly changed his tone:

“I don’t want to attack Iran any further. I have no plans to do that. Iran, do not retaliate. Let’s negotiate peace.”

A swift and stark reversal, reflecting Trump’s confusion in the face of the region’s fierce backlash.

Is the world really safer?

Not at all. The Middle East is entering a period of tension unseen in years. Trump’s assertion that “the world is safer” was quickly refuted by reality — sirens, flames, and frantic evacuations.

We still don’t know exactly what will happen next. But one thing is certain: this is neither victory nor peace.

President Trump warns Iran, “the bully of the Middle East”, must now make peace following American attacks against its nuclear facilities.
